US failure leads North Korea to rebuild its Nuclear facility
Tokyo (AFP): With US failing to take out North Korea’s name from the list of terrorist state, North Korea kept its promise and has started to rebuild its nuclear facility on Tuesday. North Korean foreign minister said that “The US is gravely mistaken if it thinks it can make a house search in the DPRK as it pleases just as it did in Iraq.”
North Korea had started to dismantle its nuclear facility in November under 6 nation disarmament for aid deal.
US military confirms killing 6 Iraqi security personnel
Baghdad (AFP):The US military forces confirmed killing 6 Iraqi security men and wounding 10 others while firing through a helicopter. The Iraqi security personnel had fired shots in air on a boat approaching them through Tigris River, minutes later them were killed by the US forces. The US army claimed the incident as ‘Mistaken fire’.
US – India deals faces new challenges
New Delhi (AFP): The US – India nuclear deal faced new controversies when the new condition imposed by the US came to light. According to the new conditions the supply of cheap nuclear supplies to India could be cut off if it carries out any nuclear weapons test and India would also have to allow UN to carry out inspections of its nuclear facilities.
Zalmay Khalilzad denies press reports – says he is not a candidate for Afghanistan’s President
United Nations: Zalmay Khalilzad, upon his return from vacation denied having provided Mr. Asif Ali Zardari with any political advice. He said that he was a good friend of deceased Benazir Bhutto and through her he had become friends with Zardari. Their friendship was of personal nature and he had provided no political guidance to him.
He added that kept US secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice informed upon his relationship with Mr. Zardari.
Zalmay said that he is proud of his job and has no intentions of running for the position of Afghanistan’s President.
US seeking security of energy sources from Caucasus and Central Asian countries
Baku (AFP) US Vice President, Dick Cheney started off his tour to the Central Asian oil rich country of Azerbaijan and the other countries in the region spreading the message he had brought from President Bush saying : “President Bush has sent me here with the clear and simple message for the people of Azerbaijan and the entire region. “The United States has a deep and abiding interest in your well-being and security.”
After meeting the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Cheney said “Energy security is essential to us all and the matter is becoming increasingly urgent, We must work with Azerbaijan and other countries in the Caucasus and Central Asia on additional routes for energy exports.”
