US forces resort to cold blooded murder – 20 killed most of them women in ground assault

Wana, Waziristan: Once again the US forces acted on their own, landing in the Waziristan- Pakistan through helicopters and opened fire on the innocent residents of the area. Resultantly killing 20 people most of them women.

Pakistani foreign office called the US Ambassador to lodge their protest but like previous times this protest too will be as useless as the previous one, as the blood of Pakistani Muslims is not more the red colored water for the foreign forces that can be split for the sake reporting their actions to the higher ups in Washington. The US has repeatedly breached the sovereignty of a state that has shouldered the burden of US led war on terror and has stood by them. This is a price to be paid by Pakistan to their partners in this war against terrorism.

Meanwhile, the US commandos responsible for the killing blamed poor intelligence for the incident.

Charges against Aafia framed – Will be formally charged by Thursday

New York: Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who is being held on charges of attempted murder and assault on US nationals, will be formally charged by Thursday. The report appearing in daily ‘DAWN’ said that “Ms Siddiqui is charged in the Indictment with (1) one count of attempting to kill US nationals outside the United States; (2) one count of attempting to kill US officers and employees; (3) one count of armed assault of US officers and employees; (4) one count of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence; and (5) three counts of assault of US officers and employees.”

Her attorney Dan Oliver has said that her defense team will plead not guilty for the charges being levied on her.

Karachi Stock Exchange board likely to unfreeze index by September 9, 2008

Karachi: The Board of Directors of Karachi Stock Exchange is scheduled to meet today. The board had previously used its powers and had frozen the KSE-100 index to prevent its from falling further. According to a leading broker the step was taken by the board to give the market some breathing time and to stop the free fall of share prices.

But the act of freezing the index did little to restore investor’s confidence and the index budged as little as 1% or 95 points till yesterday.
