Dallas, Texas- (CaymanMama.com) – iPod fans, the wait is finally over! Steve Jobs released the new line of iPods that included the newly designed ‘nano’, and ‘touch’, as well as a ‘Classic’ with an upgraded memory of 120 GB. While many speculated that the unveiling event, ‘Let’s Rock’ would not be anything out of the ordinary, here at CaymanMama we are indeed impressed!
So, lets begin with the newly released iPod ‘nano’. First of all, the design is similar to the 2nd generation nano but is more curved, skinnier, and features a bigger screen for comfortable video viewing. Besides the design update, it also has many new features. These include, ‘shake to shuffle’, where you shake your iPod to shuffle to a new song; ‘Genius’, which is a new feature that automatically creates playlists for you based on songs that would sound good together. Like the iPhone, and iPod ‘Touch’, in order to watch a video, or use cover flow you must turn the iPod horizontally. The iPod ‘nano’ is available in 8 GB ($149) and 16 GB ($199) models.
Next, comes the much thinner iPod ‘Touch’. The design is similar to that of the new iPhone, but with a silver back. Apple also does us a favor but adding external volume controls. The new features include, games that were designed especially for the iPod ‘Touch’, as well as the standard, internet, mail etc. The iPod ‘Touch’ is available in 8 GB($229), 16 GB($299), and 32 GB($399) models.
Besides a new iPod line, Jobs also released a new version of iTunes. The new version uses an updated interface. The only new features added, are new ways to view your music, as well as the ‘Genius’ feature that is also featured on the ‘nano’.
Overall, CaymanMama.com review team is quite impressed by the new line of iPods. We are however disappointed that Jobs, did not use this event to unveil a new line of Macbooks, which are in need of updating. Perhaps we will have to wait till December for this.
