India takes defensive stance - deploys airplanes with N-weapon carrying capacity in Kashmir
New Delhi / Srinagar:(Reuters) Indian air force has deployed 6 Soviet built air jets with the capability of carrying 8 tons of armaments including nuclear missiles. According to the Air Marshal P.K. Barbora that the deployment is temporary. The Air force official also said that it would be also patrolling the borders extending to China.
Stock markets world over react with negative results yesterday
New York / London (AFP/Reuters): The financial markets around the world gave a negative sign with the failure of big financial institution. The free fall in the share prices was mainly due to the of financial companies like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley and the shady situation of the Britain largest mortgage lender led to nose dive. The stock in the US fell by 4.1%. Dow Jones fell by 2.48% Nasdaq went down by 3.47%
Arctic might be the next battlefield for world powers
Moscow (Reuters) Russian has asked its officials to mark the areas of the arctic sea marking out Russia’s borders in the Arctic. As per estimates approximately 13% of the world undiscovered oil and 30% of the undiscovered gas lies under this area. The arctic is presently under control of 5 countries under the International law. These countries include Russian, US, Canada, Norway and Denmark via Greenland. The international law allows 320 Km or 200 miles economic zones north of their shores.
Toyota plant in Japans rocked by small bomb blast
Tokyo: A small blast created a ditch in the ground and broke glass panes in the Toyota plant yesterday. The auto maker had been receiving threatening phone calls for some time. The blast happened at the Toyota’s Southwestern Fukuoka prefecture.
Abducted journalist appear on Al-Jazeera TV network
Cairo (AP): The 2 kidnapped journalists, one belonging to Australia and other to Canada appealed to their respective governments to take necessary measure for their release through a video aired by Al-Jazeera TV network of Qatar. These journalists have been kidnapped by the Somali extremists last month.
