Ahmadinejad lashes out on US policy for igniting collapse in the global financial market

New York (AP): In an Interview to a Los Angeles time, before his speech to the UN, the Iranian President blamed the US policies for the downfall of global financial markets. He said US undertook wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and was eying Iran but in these ventures and the military engagements has left the country economically weak. He said that the US government has made series of mistakes in the past decades.

While replying to a question put forward by National Public Radio, in a separate interview the Iranian President said that “We do not have confrontations with anyone.” “The US administration interferes, and we defend ourselves.”

Taliban and Al-Qaeda copy Tamil Tigers tactics

London: Sri Lankan Defense spokesman while speaking to the media said that Taliban and the Al-Qaeda seemed to have learnt the tactics of terrorism from the books of LTTE. Tamil tigers were the first ones to use the suicide jackets and the recent bombing at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad was carried out on the same pattern as the Tamil Tigers who rammed their vehicle through the gates of Central Bank of Colombo killing 91 people in 1996.

The spokesman said that negotiations with the Tamil Tigers gave them time to regroup, rearm and refund themselves after which they struck with more force. Similar things are happening in Pakistan.

Denpasar (Reuters): The secular forces of Indonesia rose against the anti pornography bill that has been tabled and discussed between the government officials. The protesters carried banners saying “Anti-porn bill no, Indonesia yes”

Angry workers kill CEO of Italian company in India

New Delhi (Reuters) The dispute with the workers led to the death of 47 years old CEO of an Italian Industrial gear manufacturing company. Lalit Kishore Choudhry was beaten to death by the enraged workers as these workers had been sacked over a dispute in the factory.

The workers damaged the office and beat up Mr. Choudhry. Police arrested 63 workers in this connection.

Journalist Win Tin freed by Myanmar government after 19 years

Yangon (Reuters) Win Tin who was jailed for sheltering a girl who received an illegal abortion in 1989 was released by the government after 19 years of imprisonment. Upon his release he said, “I will keep fighting until the emergence of democracy in this country.”
