Peshawar: Five people were killed in a suicide bomb attack at the guest house of the chief of Awami National Party, Mr. Asfandyar Wali. Mr. Wali heads the political party and is a coalition partner in the PPP led government.
Mr. Wali did not get hurt, while 5 people were killed in the attack and several were injured.
Taking advantage of the large gathering of people who had gathered on the second day of Eid to greet Mr. Wali at his guest house the suicide bomber forced himself inside the guest house and blew himself off.
The President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan condemned the attack saying that the trouble makers are trying to disturb the peace and harmony inside the country and the government will not allow them to do so. Prime Minister of Pakistan, while calling the suicide bomb attack a ‘cowardly act’ have announced compensation for the deceased and the injured people.
While talking to the newsmen Mr. Rehman Malik, advisor to the Prime Minister of the Interior said that the government of Pakistan will not rest the terrorists are eliminated from Pakistan. Mr. Malik said that these acts of terrorism are carried out by the enemies of the country who want to destabilize the country.
