Pakistan Breaking News - Suicide Bomber kills 15 injures over 20 people in Punjab
2008-10-06 20:46:50 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - Pakistan News News)Bhakkar, Punjab, Pakistan: A suicide bomber blew himself off in guest area of the residence of Punjab MNA Mr. Rashid Akbar Khan Nawani killing 15 people and injuring more than 20. Mr. Nawani’s secretary was among the dead while the suicide bomber succeeded in injuring the MNA. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital for emergency care. Mr. Rashid Akbar Khan Mannan has also been injured.
According to the police the suicide bomber entered the MNA’s residence from the front gate along with the people who had come to offer Eid greeting to the MNA.
This was the second attack of its kind on the office bearers of the civilian democratic government of Pakistan. The first attack was carried out on Mr. Asfandyar Wali, Chief of ANP, on his residence on the third day of the Eid. The parliamentarian remained safe while many were injured.
According to the unofficial sources, the number of the injured people is 40 and expected fatalities could increase to 25
The President and the Prime Minister quickly condemned the terrorist act.
Police has recovered the head of the suicide bomber. The police also claims to have found Afghan currency from the cloths of the suicide bomber. Non of the terrorist organization have claimed responsibility so far.
