CaymanMama.com Technology Reporter reviews the new Motorola Krave ZN4 with “clear-flip” touchscreen and other features
Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Cellular phone makers are constantly trying to outdo each other with the latest and greatest in phone features making cell phones smaller, lighter and with loads of functions.
Motorola is one of those looking to set their product out from the rest with the introduction of the Motorola Krave ZN4. This phone is the next in the craze of touchscreen handsets but this time, with a twist.
The Motorola Krave ZN4 has a clear plastic flip screen that is fully touch-enabled but with a “Matrix” type of look to it. Available on the Verizon Wireless network, the Krave ZN4 is available for only $149 with a two-year contract. This hand set may look slightly familiar to anyone who has seen the old Motorola Ming phones which also had the same transparent cover.
Motorola it seems, wanted to out-do themselves by adding more features to the Krave adding its flip with touch-sensitive capabilities that allow the user to access several multimedia features (streaming videos, the music player, GPS, and the photo album) even when the phone is closed.
Still, the Krave has met some criticism as in its early review of the phone, CNET mentioned that the “flip tends to get in the way when it’s time to tap out messages on the Krave’s internal, 2.8-inch (and haptic-enabled) touchscreen.”
The Krave uses Verizon’s 3G EV-DO network, which is beneficial for streaming video, full-track music downloads, and fast internet browsing. The Krave also supports Verzion’s MediaFlo-powered Mobile TV service.
Interested in other features? The Krave boasts the following: two-megapixel camera, GPS, SMS and picture messaging, voice recognition, Bluetooth, and up to 8GB of microSD memory expansion.
