Microsoft Office Suite will soon be made available to users on the Web.
Little Rock, Arkansas (CaymanMama.com) — According to a recent report by NewsFactor, Microsoft made an announcement on Tuesday at the Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles that will be sure to add icing to their proverbial cake.
The Microsoft Office suite will soon be delivered through Web browsers and Chris Capossela, senior vice president of the Microsoft Business Division, said it will allow users to utilize softer versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.
Capossela indicated that the addition of the Office Suite for web browsers is the company’s “software plus services” approach for all its technology giving users a “consistent Office experience”. This means that whether users have desktop applications, Internet access or a Windows smartphone, they will be able to access their Office documents no matter what.
“Our customers don’t use one device,” Capossela said, “but rather several.” He added that they want “a seamless, synchronized experience across those devices to help them work smarter, faster and better.”
The new Microsoft Office Web applications will be made available to people using Office Live, which offers advertising- and subscription-based versions.
The web applications for Microsoft Office Suite will be made available at the end of next year, when the new Office 14 is released. Pricing details have not been released.
