Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister barred from taking part in elections

Dhaka: Sheikh Hassina, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh who has been behind bars for over a year is right now in US for medical treatment, was denied bail request by the local court. Her lawyer said that after bail refusal by the high court, the former Prime Minister will not be able to take part in the upcoming elections.
