John McCain to appeal to voters in a cameo appearance on “Saturday Night Live”
New York City, New York (CaymanMama.com) — “Live from New York…..it’s John McCain!”
Only days before one of the biggest elections in our generation, Republican presidential candidate John McCain is making a last-minute detour from the “battleground” states in order for some comic relief.
McCain’s aides said on Friday that the self-titled “Maverick” will make a cameo appearance on “Saturday Night Live”.
“Saturday Night Live” has made news lately as a must-watch late-night satire show with spoofs on all of the presidential candidates during this heated political season.
Ben Affleck, a celebrity supporter of Democratic candidate Barack Obama, will be hosting the show along with musical guest and American Idol winner David Cook.
McCain’s vice-presidential running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, appeared on “Saturday Night Live” on Oct. 18 earning the show its best ratings in 14 years. According to the Associated Press, “former star and head writer Tina Fey, a Palin lookalike, has been at the center of the show’s recent parodies of the campaign.”
Barack Obama previously appeared on “Saturday Night Live” last season but canceled his return for the opening season in September due to Hurricane Ike.
