With less than one day left until election day, Florida looks promising for Barack Obama and for the win.

Miami, Florida (CaymanMama.com) — Word on the street is that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama may have Florida in the bag.

As this election may be the biggest in many generations, American citizens are taking notice about the platforms that are most important to them and voting based on which candidate best represents their idea of a stronger, wealthier America. In some cases, this means that lifelong Republicans may vote Democrat and vice versa.

Florida is predominately Republican with a heavy middle class population which is mainly Hispanic. According to Floridian blogger, Jonathan Martin, McCain campaign signs typically outnumber Obama signs covering front lawns and sidewalk paths. However, this is the first election in many years that democrat signs were posted on lawns signaling a change in attitude.

As a major battleground and the nation’s largest swing state, Florida has 27 electoral votes up for grabs leaving it major state to win in this election. Lines to vote in Florida polling stations have been exceptionally long with a wait time at a reported three hours.

In a desperate need for change and economic turnaround, Florida’s poor, black and hispanic demographics have turned into Obama supporters causing analysts to predict that the Illinois senator may take the state.

Martin states, “The McCain office in the area has been virtually non existent- no one at the paper even knew they had an office until last Friday when they stopped by to ask if we would put something in on their office location. Seemed kind of late to make much of a difference.”

Not allowing the statistics to slow him down, McCain appealed to Floridians with one day left in the race for the White House. The Arizona senator told a modestly attended rally on Monday, “With this kind of enthusiasm, this kind of intensity we will win Florida and we will win the election.”
