The two suspects in a plot to kill President-elect Barack Obama have plead not guilty
Charlotte, North Carolina (CaymanMama.com) — Having only been the President-elect for two days, Barack Obama is already the target of assassination plots.
Luckily for his family and for the American public, a recent plot to assassinate the first black president of the United States was foiled and according to the Associated Press, the two white supremacists plead not guilty on Thursday in a plot to kill Obama and dozens of other black people.
Twenty-year-old Daniel Cowart of Tennessee and 18-year-old Paul Schlesselman of Arkansas said very little while offering their pleas to a judge inside a tense Memphis courtroom.
The skinheads face a maximum threat of federal charges for threatening a presidential candidate, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, planning to rob a gun dealer and taking firearms across state lines.
The indictment of seven counts alleges that the men devised a sinister killing spree plot to take place sometime between Sept. 1 and Oct. 22. Court records show that their plan quickly dismantled.
The arrest of Cowert and Schlesselman were made public October 27 and they are being held without bond.
