CaymanMama.com reviews Sweet Tomatoes in Addison, Texas
Addison, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — From the first moment I walked in the doors of Sweet Tomatoes (with handles shaped like a fork and spoon, mind you) the smell of fresh produce and warm bread welcomed me in.
Sweet Tomatoes is a buffet-style, all-you-can-eat restaurant featuring the freshest vegetables, salads, made-from-scratch soups, muffins and hot pastas.
Right off the bat, I was impressed with Sweet Tomatoes. From the extensive variety on the salad bar including baby field greens and feta cheese to the fun prepared salads like Won Ton Chicken Happiness and Joan’s Broccoli Madness, the menu is impressive.
The soup line is extensive forcing customers to stop and wonder ‘which one should I pick?’
The U.S. Senate Bean w/ Smoked Ham soup and the Santa Fe Black Bean Chili (Low-Fat, Vegan) were phenomenal, fresh and endlessly appetizing. Dipping in a freshly baked piece of Garlic Asiago Focaccia bread was simply divine enforcing the fresh smells of buttery bread right as customers walk through the doors.
As far as ambiance is concerned, Sweet Tomatoes corners the market. The space is open, clean and visually appealing with pictures of happy, healthy families and images of fresh fruits and vegetables on the walls.
For less than $10.00 per person, customers can return as many times as they want to the soup, salad and bread bar and then finish off with a selection of sweet breads or soft serve ice cream.
Overall, Sweet Tomatoes is an impressive change for the ordinary soup and salad bars. The variety is bigger, the food is more fresh and the staff are delightfully helpful. The cute name of the restaurant - Sweet Tomatoes - is simply icing on the Chocolate Lava Cake.
