20 people on board Russian nuclear submarine die in an under sea accident
Vladivostok - Russia (Reuters): The incident that occurred during the sea trial on board a Russian nuclear submarine has left 20 people dead due to inhaling toxic gas used a fire suppressant. The people inhaled the gas as the fire extinguishers went off suddenly. The incident puts a question mark on Russia’s naval capabilities.
Provincial polls scheduled in Iraq on January 31, 2009
Baghdad (AFP): The Iraqis will go to polls on January 31, next year. The election campaign will start next month and will continue for 2 months. According to Iraq’s High Electoral Committee the election will be held in one day all over Iraq.

Sao Paula (AFP) The G-20 nations during their meeting held in Sao Paulo resolved that IMF and the world bank system should be revamped. The statement issued after G-20 meeting stated, “We underscored that the Bretton Woods Institutions must be comprehensively reformed so that they can more adequately reflect changing economic weights in the world economy and be more responsive to future challenges. Emerging and developing economies should have greater voice and representation in these institutions.”
Economic package to boost economy to be adopted by China
Beijing (AFP): The Chinese Prime Minister announced economic and financial package to boost Chinese economy. The PM announced a multi Trillion Yuan economic package yesterday. The statement issued at the cabinet’s website states, “ China has decided to adopt an active fiscal policy and moderately easy monetary policies to foster fast but steady economic growth by expanding domestic demand.”

London (Reuters): London, Birmingham and Southeast England might be infected by the Muslim Extremists. This was reported by The Sunday Telegraph, which the paper claims is through a leaked intelligence report about the presence of “Some thousands extremists” in the UK.
