Jerusalem (AFP) “There were times when we wanted to seal our presence on every inch of land — and I was one of those people — but we were wrong. This government, any government, owes it to tell the truth and that truth will force us to separate from many parts of the homeland in Judaea and Samaria (the West Bank), in Jerusalem and on the Golan Heights.”
Olmert the outgoing Prime Minister of Israel spoke the above words during his speech to the parliament. He was stressing that if Israel wants peace it would have to return all the land taken from the Arabs.

Jerusalem (AP): A 2000 years old gold earring with a large pearl inlaid were discovered under the parking lot near the walls of old city of Jerusalem. The gold earring is believed to be of the time of Christ. Archaeologists explained that the piece of jewelry was “astonishingly well preserved.” The archaeologists expect to find more small luxury items in the future excavations.

Paris (AFP): “The Goncourt” the first book of the Afghan writer’s first book that was written in French and a novel that was turned into a film with the name of “Earth and Ashes” won a French top annual book prize. His other works are written in Persian. Atiq Rahimi was born in Kabul in 1962, he fled to Pakistan in 1980 and then went to France. He studied film and settled in France.
