CaymanMama Humanitarian Report: Dallas-Fort Worth program for the needy is saved from eviction with a generous donation

Fort Worth, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — As a matter of policy, CaymanMama.com news and press release distribution service is a strong advocate of giving back to humanity down to local communities in an effort to keep hope and faith alive.

In a touching story by the Fort Worth Star Telegram on Tuesday, a Fort Worth-based program for the needy called The Hope Center was facing an imminent eviction due to delinquent property taxes in the amount of $678,026.

A generous gesture from a benefactor saved The Hope Center from closing its doors with a donation in exactly that amount, center organizers said.

Housed in a local Fort Worth church, The Hope Center building is the main hub of several social service programs, including a food pantry that feeds about 400 people a week.

“We are still here. Hallelujah!” Pastor Orlando Reyes excitedly announced to people who gathered Tuesday for the announcement at the church.

The selfless benefactor was James Noryian, an Austin real estate businessman from Austin, though he was not present at the time of the announcement.

Noryian’s statement said, “When my family first came to this country from Iran … we benefited from organizations like Catholic Charities. With that in mind, in honor of the Noryian family, we wanted to prevent this travesty from happening.”

In 1996, Pastor Reyes and his wife purchased the building with the goal of turning it into a ministry to help the poor and needy. In June, the received notice of eviction by the city but were granted more time to find a solution.
