Prime Minister calls US drone attacks ‘Intolerable’
Islamabad: President Bush seems to be in a hurry to finish up his job and take medals for killing innocent Pakistani civilians by calling them militants. The fact is that US has being misusing the excuse of launching attacks on the hideout of Taliban and Al-Qaeda inside Pakistan. The US so called attacks have always carried the words “attacks on suspected militants hideouts’ that have always ended up killing civilian inside the tribal areas. The latest attack of yesterday too, took lives of 9 civilian and injured 4 in Bannu.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan issued strong statements calling such attacks ‘intolerable’. He also clarified to the parliament and the Pakistani people that there is no secret agreement between the US and the Pakistani government on such drone attacks. The US ambassador to Pakistan was also summoned by the foreign ministry and formal complaint was lodged with the US government.
Pakistan export of traditional items increase by 44%
Islamabad: In the first quarter of the fiscal year, the export of tradition items of rice, sports goods, leather products, foot wear, surgical and engineering goods shot up by 44% bagging $3.023 billion as against $2.225 last year in the same quarter
Pakistan nuclear scientist habeas corpus petition
Islamabad: For the first time is no many years, the Pakistan nuclear scientist, files a habeas corpus petition for the removal of restriction imposed on his movement. Replying to the correspondent on telephone Dr. Khan said “This if for the first time that a petition against my detention has been directly filed by me.” He said he is hopeful that the court will order removal of these restrictions.
17 militants and 11 foreigners killed in Mamond area
Khar: During Pakistan security forces operation 17 militants and 11 foreigners were killed. The security forces used helicopter gun ships and heavy artillery during the operation. In retaliation to the Pakistan security forces operation, the militants killed the tribal leader and eight others during a suicide bomb attack.
Dilemma on floor removal persists
Karachi: The trading session at the Karachi Stock Exchange, yesterday, clearly reflected fears of major market players about the removal of floor. While the major players remained absent from the trading scene, the traders confined themselves by trading in shares with the market value of Rs0.50 or below against the face value of Rs.10/-. The KSE-100 index remained at a stand still at 9,184.09.
