Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Get out and shop around, the weekend shopping season has begun. Consumers who have been holding on to their purchases and were looking for discounts can now reach out to the near store and get lucky.

Retailers too think that aggressive price cuts will pull customers to their stores as the tough financial conditions have kept them away from the buying scene too long.

As per New York Times quoted National Retails Federation’s chief executive, who said, “Shoppers who held off buying a DVD player or winter coat over the last few months will find that prices may literally be too good to pass up.”

The newspaper goes further in indicating the shopper’s trend on the web searches for Black Friday bargains.NYT reported Google’s John McAteer, who heads the search engine giant’s retail division said that they are shocked as 31% of internet users started shopping before Halloween.

He also opened up the facts that the number of people searching for “Black Friday was up by 41% from last year, surfers who searched for the words “coupon” were up by 59%, “buy one get one free” up by 200% and “free shipping” were up by 11%.” Retailers, too, as per NYT report started advertising in October, much ahead than the previous years.

Would all such activity bring the buyers out and would retailers get their market share, though they would not be expecting huge profits due to massive discounts being offered by them.
