Bollywood thinking strategies for releasing new films

Mumbai (CaymanMama.com) — The aftereffects of the terrorists attacks in Mumbai has sent waves inside the multi-billion dollar film industry of India. The movie makers are in doldrums, thinking, rethinking and setting new strategies on when to release their new film as the situation in Mumbai remains tense and the people in the current scenario remain glued to their TV, shifting from one channel to another.
With some movie makers finding no alternatives, they might decide to go on with the predetermined release schedules but are not hoping for a great public response. The cinema might remain closed on Friday in Mumbai leaving distributors with no option but to release the movies in other parts of the country in small towns and to open the film on Saturday in Mumbai
The new releases that are scheduled to open in Indian cinemas are Sorry Bhai and Oye Luck! Luck Oye. The makers of ‘President is coming’ have rescheduled their movie’s release.
The rescheduling of these films might not have helped the film makers as the decision of delaying the release to other weeks in December would have meant to clash with release dates of Rab Nay Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini that are set be released on December 12th and December 25th. That leaves the film makes of the Sorry Bhai and OLLO to look at the dates of early next year. But as the taboo goes, the Indian film industry has seen almost all movies heading for flop when released in the first week of January.
For December 5th, releases of Maharathi, Dil Kabaddi, Khalbali - Fun Unlimited, Oh! My God, Kaashh…Mere Hote and Gumnaam - The Mystry are set to be released.
Question is, Would the cinema goers in Mumbai would be interested in the new movies being released. Or will they continue to morn the Mumbai attacks. The movie makers seem to have limited options with their forth coming released.
