House in Preston Hollow

The First Family has purchased a sprawling estate in Dallas’ prestigious Preston Hollow community following the end of Bush’s presidency

Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Following the end of the last term for President Bush, the Bush family will now live comfortably in an opulent Dallas neighborhood.

According to the Dallas Morning News,  the White House confirmed on Thursday that the current First Family has purchased a sprawling estate in Dallas’ prestigious Preston Hollow community to live in after President Bush’s presidency ends in January.

The office of First lady Laura Bush’s did not indicate exactly where the house is located, but “it appears likely the couple will live on Daria Place, a cul-de-sac in the upscale neighborhood.”

“The president and Mrs. Bush do not have occupancy of the home, and therefore, no additional details will be provided,” spokeswoman Sally McDonough said in a statement.

President Bush’s accountant in Midland, Texas, Robert McCleskey, was reported to have purchased the property at 10141 Daria Place as a trustee on October 3, according to records with the Dallas Central Appraisal District. The home’s hefty price tag was reported to come in at $2,078,660.

The report states the new Bush digs was “built in 1959, the home sits on 1.13 acres, has four bedrooms, 4 ½ baths, a wet bar, a fireplace and 8,501 square feet of living space, including 896 square feet of servant quarters.”

It seems the Bushes will be returning back to the neighborhood in which George W. began prior to his presidency.  The family sold their home in Preston Hollow after Mr. Bush became Texas governor. Moving plans are being firmed up as their lease at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. expires in 47 days.
