Bajaur and Mohmand agencies under full government control
Islamabad: The two main tribal agencies of Bajaur and Mohmand will come under governments control completely by the end of this month. President Asif Ali Zardari spoke to the elders of the tribal areas during a meeting yesterday. The President said that he would hold meetings with the elders of the tribal areas every fortnight. He also said, ‘Peace in the tribal areas is the foremost priority of the government and that is why it had decided to press into service all available resources to bring stability to the region.’

Islamabad: Mr. Rehman Malik, adviser to the PM on Interior, during a debate on national security issues in the National Assembly said that the government is studying the security policies of some countries and would be formulating a new national security policy for Pakistan. He said, “‘We are studying the Saudi system and also of Sri Lanka.’
Pause in peace process aggravates hostility – Shah Mahmood Qureshi
Islamabad: During a joint press conference with the Swedish Foreign Minister Car Bildt, the Pakistan Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, yesterday said that India should come forward and stop the blame game, peace process should continue. He also reiterated that pointing fingers without solid evidences would not solve any issue. He said, ‘Let us get into a cooperative mode and not indulge in blame game and finger-pointing which would not only be counterproductive, but would take us back from where we had started.”
PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif offered bribe by the Government
Islamabad: The recently published case of the current Chief Justice of Pakistan who used his sources to get her daughter admitted into a medical college by getting some extra marks in her exam results, an issue that has been highlighted in the media and pumped by all political parties has now turned political.
Nawaz Sharif, the chief of Pakistan Muslim League (N) spoke out against that Mr. Dogar, the now chief justice of Pakistan who took oath after ousting Justice Chaudhry demanded Mr. Dogar to resign and also demanded complete inquiry into the case of Mr. Dogar’s daughter’s illegal upgrading in marks and also of her admission in medical college informed the media that he has received an offer from the government to back off from the case and in return all his cases would be put off so that he could contest in the elections.
Mr. Nawaz Sharif publicly announced that he would not take the shameful offer. It is learnt by the correspondent that after Mr. Nawaz Sharif’s refusal the court has been asked to speed up the hearings of Mr. Nawaz Sharif’s cases.
Heavy selling pressure pulls forces the KSE-100 index to go down further
Karachi (Business Recorder Report): The KSE-100 index fell further by 320.37 points. The fall attributed to heavy selling for the forth straight day since Monday. The KSE-100 index stands at 7,785.26 points.
