The Ford Fusion hybrid will provide drivers with an impressive 41 miles per gallon, making it the second-most fuel-efficient vehicle on the road

Arlington, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Ford is excited to unveil a new fuel-efficient version of the popular Fusion to the market this spring, making going “green” even more attractive.

According to data given to Ford Motor by the Environmental Protection Agency, the Fusion hybrid will provide drivers with an impressive 41 miles per gallon, making it the second-most fuel-efficient vehicle on the road, according to a ranking published on the EPA’s website. The Fusion hybrid follows the compact Toyota Prius and the smaller Honda Civic hybrid.

As a monumental marketing gain for the automaker, Ford continues to strive to “green up” it’s image and improve their vehicle’s gas efficiency. The price tag for the Fusion hybrid will come in at about $27,000 versus the $24,000 sticker price for the standard Fusion model.

“Our overall strategy is to ensure that with every new vehicle we introduce, we’re either the best or among the best in fuel economy,” says Derrick Kuzak, vice president of global product development for Ford. “Clearly fuel economy … is at the top of the list of customer wants.”

Even though fuel prices have reached a new comfortable low, there continues to be big consumer concerns for the economy of fuel and that’s due to the fact that few are convinced low gas prices are here to stay.

The Fusion hybrid saves the most fuel by way of it’s air conditioners as its electric-powered. In addition, the battery in the vehicle is 50 lbs lighter than the Escape hybrid’s, and there have also been changes made to improve its aerodynamics.
