As President Bush’s final days at the nation’s president winds to a close, he and his family are eager to return to Camp David for Christmas
Waco, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — As President Bush’s final days at the nation’s president winds to a close, he and his family are eager to return to Camp David for Christmas - a retreat that has been part of his family since George Bush Sr. was in office.
The president and his family is so eager, in fact, that he asked his staff to move up the departure from 2:30 p.m. ET to 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, and with good reason: President George H.W. Bush has spent all eight Christmas holidays of his presidency at the Maryland mountain retreat.
According to USA Today, “Bush also spent the four Christmases that his father was president from 1989-92 at Camp David, making this his 12th such visit.”
The family will be a bit bigger than it was last year as one of the Bush daughter will be in attendance with her new husband. As usual, First lady Laura Bush, daughters Barbara and Jenna, and Jenna’s new husband Henry Hager will arrive at Camp David.
In addition, Bush’s parents George H.W. and Barbara Bush will come to celebrate the season along with various siblings and their families, presidential spokesman Tony Fratto reported.
