Actor David Spade donated $100,000 to the Phoenix police department allowing them to be able to purchase approximately 300 AR-15 rifles for their force

Phoenix, Arizona (CaymanMama.com) — Christmas came early to the patrol officers at the Phoenix police department.
Comedic actor David Spade gave the biggest gift of the season to the Arizona police department with some high-powered goodies. As an ex-Phoenix resident, Spade donated $100,000 to the department allowing them to be able to purchase approximately 300 AR-15 rifles for their force.

The actor spent his childhood years in the Phoenix area and graduated from Arizona State University.

Spade’s donation contributes to a program being coordinated by Phoenix Police Chief and Public Safety Manager Jack Harris and Phoenix Law Enforcement Association President Officer Mark Spencer.

“Asking there be no fanfare or media attention, Mr. Spade called last week and said he wanted to donate $100,000 to the Phoenix Police Department towards the purchase of rifles to help keep our patrol officers and community safe,” the statement says.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Alan Hill says the rifles will be distributed to patrol officers and that the agency was thankful for the gifts.

“These guys need to be able to do their jobs and I am just happy I could help,” Spade said in a statement.
