Karachi: Tenth day of Moharram, day of Ashur is being observed today with reverence and religious fervor in Pakistan. The Shia Muslims will be taking out procession to pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain, his family and his companion who sacrificed themselves for the cause of tructh, justice and righteousness.
Ajmal Kasab’s identity and nationality established amid confusing statements from the government of Pakistan
Islamabad: Conflicting statement were aired by the Pakistani news channels about the identity and nationality of the lone survivor of Mumbai attacks. The news of Ajmal Kasab being a Pakistani national was confirmed by the unnamed government official who stated that, “Sadly, it has been established that Kasab is a Pakistani national.”
Within moments the Pakistani interior ministry went on to contradict the statements air by the local TV channels saying that investigation are underway and final announcement about the identity of Kasab will be made as soon as the investigation are over.
While the information minister ended the confusion by send a text message to the foreign news agency confirming the identity of Ajmal being a Pakistani National who belongs to a Punjab village and had been known to have joined a militant group.
National Security adviser, Mehmud Ali Durrani, was sacked for annoucing Ajmals Identity without PM’s approval
Islamabad: The furious Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yusuf Raza Gilani, sacked his National Security Adviser Mehmud Ali Durrani late last night for making an announcement about the identity of the only survivor of Mumbai attacks who in Indian custody.
Mr. Gilani spoke about Mr. Durrani’s dismissal by saying, “He embarrassed me and the country” by going public with the report of Ajmal Kasab’s nationality without his permission. “I have dismissed him with immediate effect.”

Islamabad (APP): At the time when India and Pakistan are standing on the edge of breaking in a war, the Indian Prime Minister goes further in his accusation and implicated Pakistani intelligence agencies in the masterminding and providing help to the militant in Mumbai attacks. The Pakistan PM call such remarks from his Indian counterpart ‘most unfortunate’ and said, “Since Nov 26, Pakistan has not only made constructive proposals for mutual cooperation but also initiated actions and investigation on its own, we are convinced that the only effective way of dealing with the common challenge of terrorism is to develop robust cooperation encompassing all relevant departments.”
Britain’s Parliamentarians back Pakistan’s investment policy
Islamabad (Business Recorder): Minister of State for Investment and the Chairman of Board of Investments briefed the British PM’s on Pakistan’s investment policy. The British Parliamentarians group which included James Devine, Mark Fisher, James McGovern and Mohammad Sarwar. Mohammad Sarwar, first Muslim parliamentarian of UK expressed their confidence in the investment policy of Pakistan and also stressed the need to focus on overseas Pakistani to boost the foreign investment in the country.
