Dallas-based online dating giant Match.com has launched a new site that is free of charge with interesting features
Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Many singles looking for their soulmates steer clear of online dating sites due to the high monthly cost and no promise of love. However, Dallas-based online dating giant Match.com has launched a new site that should fix that problem.
Match.com, owned by Internet company IAC/InterActiveCorp, also runs popular online dating site Chemistry.com. The company is in preparations to announce later this week the launch of DownToEarth.com - a free dating portal.
Though Match.com hasn’t officially announced the site, it has been available to the public for six weeks.
Although it is not the first free online dating site, DownToEarth.com removes the fee from users and will generate revenue from ads on the site. This new venture is aimed toward singles who are new to online dating and gives users the ability to add post-date reviews and comments about the accuracy of others’ pictures and profiles.
According to the Dallas Morning News, “ Match.com Chief Executive Thomas Enraght-Moony said that DownToEarth.com ‘brings a level of transparency and consumer control’ to the free dating site market. He expects it to attract users who are under 28, which is slightly younger than the Match.com audience.”
