Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) –Are you prepared to spend 60 minutes in the dark to make a statement about saving energy?

Beginning at 8:30 pm. on Saturday, March 28th, millions of people all over the globe will show their support for a cause that is important to every form of life: putting and end to global warming.

By powering down all lights and electronics for only one hour, you can help to save a great deal in energy savings while raising awareness in the following ways:

  • In 2008, Chicago’s hour-long participation (just one city alone!) helped reduce the amount of CO2 that 104 acres of trees consume over the same period of time.
  • Earth Hour organizers help to raise awareness by promoting energy-efficient lighting.
  • Have fun in the dark! Take Earth Hour to get together with friends, have a slumber party and make a night fun and games!

Fun Fact: Worldwide landmarks like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, and Sydney’s Opera House will dim their lights during Earth Hour.
