Peshawar: Maulana Sufi Mohammed was last seen leaving the Lal Qila area to reach in home just before the security forces started their operation. Ameer Izzat, the spokes of TNSM said, ‘The last time we had contact with Sufi Sahib was when he said he was on his way to Maidan. He said that he wanted to return home but he was not allowed to proceed by security people because of the fighting there.’ He added that there is no communication since then.
The government officials also are searching for Sufi Mohammed and wants him to address the pending issues and announce implementation of Adl regulations.
Security forces troops deployed in parts of tribal areas
Mingora: Following the hostile activities of the militants in the tribal areas, the Pakistan security forces, fresh troops have been deployed alongside the Karakoram Highway to cover Shangla, Battagram and Kohistan. The Taliban militants had earlier taken over the telephone exchange and have also occupied the home of the local religious leader Pir Syed Ali Gilani in Behrain. According to the locals the Taliban have also established check posts in the area to keep an eye on the movement of the security troops.
Pakistan offer 10 million pound sterling bribe by UK
Islamabad: The visiting Prime Minister of UK Gordon Brown, in his one day rush visit to Islamabad offer an aid of 10 million pound sterling from UK to help Pakistan fight terrorism. He said, ‘We will stand up to extremism together. We will reverse this trend and take them (extremists) on. We have agreed on a new and stronger relationship between our countries — vital and urgent work we will undertake together which sets out our shared priorities of tackling violent extremism.’
The UK Prime Minister, how ever remained unmoved on the issue of arrested Pakistani students and expressed no regrets in this regards.
Pakistan Australia 3rd ODI - Pakistan looses the match by 27 runs
Abu Dhabi: Pakistan has till now bagged one victory over the Australian in the 3 ODI matches played in the Abu Dhabi.
Clarke bowled Pakistan out with his spin bowling, a tactic used by the Pakistanis against the Australians through out the 3 matches that have been played. Clarke’s spell in the alloted 50 over match began with claiming 3 for 15 run that led to the Pakistani teams failure to achieve the target of 199 runs by the Australians. Selling pressure forces KSE-100 index to fall by 275.93 points
Karachi: The military operation in the northern parts of Pakistan sparked concerns and the investors resorted to heavy selling, though the market started with good sentiments rising to the intra day gain of 52.27 points. Later day trading was full of selling pressure when the KSE-100 index declined to 7,344.94 points.
