Detroit, Michigan (CaymanMama.com) — The stubborn parents of a 13-year-old Minnesota boy who turned down chemotherapy for his Hodgkin’s lymphoma have changed their mind and told a judge they now consent to the treatment.
The judge now says the boy can stay resume living with his parents.
Daniel Hauser and his mother missed a court appearance last week and left Minnesota to evade chemotherapy in an effort to find alternative treatments. Colleen and Anthony Hauser now say they understand their son requires this treatment to stay alive
According to the Associated Press, “Daniel returned to Minnesota on Monday after almost a week on the run. A doctor’s exam showed a tumor in his chest has grown and is pushing against his trachea, causing pain.”
Brown County Family Services objected to the ruling, claiming they want Daniel to remain in the county’s custody.
