New Orleans, Louisiana (CaymanMama.com) –Sadness has fallen on the family of Mike Tyson as the death of the former boxer’s 4-year-old daughter in a freak accident adds to an already tumultuous life.
Exodus Tyson passed away at an Arizona hospital Tuesday, just one day after her neck became entangled in a cord dangling from a treadmill at her Phoenix home, police said.
Police said the little girl could have slipped or deliberately put her head in the loop of the cord and accidentally suffocated herself.
She was pronounced dead right before the noon hour after being kept alive on life support, said police Sgt. Andy Hill, who called the situation a “tragic accident.”
“There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus,” the family said in a statement. “We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal.”
Mike Tyson, who has been residing in Las Vegas, quickly boarded a plane to Phoenix on Monday, where he was photographed entering the hospital with a melancholy look on his face.
