Lahore city rocked by powerful suicide car bomb blast - 23 killed
Lahore (Dawn.com): Suicide bomb blast in Lahore, the third in the city so far, left 23 people dead and over 200 injured. Many are being feared to be trapped under the rubble of the building and it is feared that the death toll may rise. According to the eye witness report 3 men approached the city police emergency center in a car, two young men got out and started firing in all direction and immediately afterwards an explosion took place.
The explosion left a 15 foot cater on the road. 2 people were arrested in this connection.
Military official cite taking over Mingora in couple of days
Mingora/Islamabad (Dawn.com): The Pakistan security officials, yesterday, claimed that they are set to the city of Mingora back from the hold of militants within couple of days. According to the military report over 286 militants and 7 soldiers have died and 27 militants have been injured in the current offensive. Civilians who are stranded in the area are facing shortage of food and water.
Pakistan ‘Command and Control’ structure better than other N-states
Islamabad (Dawn.com): Air Commodore Khalid Banuri, the director of arms control and disarmament affairs claimed that Pakistan nuclear assets are safe. Almost 10,000 military personnel are placed to safe guard the nuclear assets of Pakistan. He also said that the “Command and Control” structure of Pakistan nuclear assets is better than other nuclear states and the same has been acknowledged by other N-States.
Benazir Bhutto’s niece Fatima Bhutto speaks about weak and corrupt leadership of Pakistan
London (Dawn.com): Speaking about the Pakistan present situation, Fatima Bhutto, Niece of former PM of Pakistan Benazir shared here view about the present situation of Pakistan. She spoke about the corrupt leadership of Pakistan and spoke about the suspensions that billions of dollars of aid would be spent on the right place.
She painted a grim picture of the present day situation of Pakistan, the country, that is now facing terrorism, Taliban problem, poverty and corruption.
Karachi Stock Exchange session ended with positive note with scars left from Lahore bomb blast
Karachi (Business Recorder): The trading session started with a positive note yesterday at the Karachi Stock Exchange. Though the KSE-100 index touched the mid day heighest of 7,269.54 points, the Lahore bomb blast news took away the fruits and left the Karachi Stock Exchange with a meager rise of 11.95 points with KSE-100 index standing at 7,188.84 points
