Prince Harry lands in Manhattan for first U.S. trip
2009-05-29 18:10:40 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - World News News)New York City, New York (CaymanMama.com) — Prince Henry of Wales, commonly referred to as Prince Harry, the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, arrived in Manhattan on Friday, marking his first official visit to the States.
Prince Harry’s first visit was to the World Trade Center site, where he respectfully left a wreath and a handwritten note, bowing his head for a moment of silence at an area overlooking the Sept. 11 memorial.
The young prince toured he World Trade Center site and briefly browsed the rebuilding plans. During his visit, Prince Harry, 24, asked an official, “Big question — when is this supposed to be finished?”
He was also to visit a garden memorial created for the victims of Sept. 11, as well as a veterans center in Manhattan.
Prince Harry also spoke to family members of several 9/11 victims and walked the site and a firehouse across from Ground Zero.
