New Orleans, Louisiana (CaymanMama.com) – PC users will get to open a new gift this holiday season as Microsoft Corp. has announced that Windows 7, the newest version of its operating software, will go on sale October 22.
Windows 7 is the highly anticipated replacement to the much-complained-about Windows Vista, and will come on all new personal computers.
Microsoft, the world’s largest software maker, will also offer versions of Windows 7 which consumers can install on existing computers.
According to Yahoo Tech, “Upgrades will be free for people who buy a new Windows Vista computer shortly before Windows 7 arrives, though Microsoft did not say when the upgrade program begins. Microsoft also didn’t say how much Windows 7 will cost.”
The holiday roll out of the new Windows 7 is promising to boost PC sales, which have slowed during the economic recession.
