Former First Lady Nancy Reagan impressed by President Obama

Phoenix, Arizona (CaymanMama.com) – Accompanied by former First Lady Nancy Reagan, President Barack Obama signed the Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission Act into legislation on Tuesday.

Mrs. Reagan has a full schedule during her visit to Washington, as she is expected to present at the unveiling of a statue dedicated to her husband and former president Ronald Reagan, and have a sit-down lunch with current First Lady Michelle Obama.

She recently sat down to an interview with Vanity Fair and shared her thoughts about the current Democratic president.

Reagan, who has remained a long time advocate on stem-cell research advocate, said she did not receive an  invitation to a ceremony for President Obama’s reversal of the policy put into place by former President George W. Bush.

“I would have gone, and you know I don’t like to travel…. Politically it would have been a good thing for [President Obama] to do. Oh, well, nobody’s perfect. He called and thanked me for working on it, but he could have gotten more mileage out of it.”

Reagan also praised Obama saying she “thought Obama ran the best campaign I have ever known — disciplined, well-organized, very, very good. I was very impressed.”
