San Antonio, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Lance Armstrong took to social-networking site Twitter late Thursday night to announce the birth of his fourth child.

Armstrong, winner of seven straight Tour de France competitions after overcoming testicular cancer, posted a picture of the tiny new baby who sweetly stuck his tongue out at the camera.“Wassup, world? My name is Max Armstrong and I just arrived. My Mommy is healthy and so am I!” Armstrong twittered at about 11:15 p.m. EDT.

Armstrong and girlfriend, Anna Hansen, made the formal announcement in December they were expecting their first child in June. Armstrong also has three children with ex-wife, Kristin.

Soon after the first Twitter post, Armstrong posted a second message thanking the medical team who helped deliver his new son, saying they were “amazing”. The newborn, named Max, came into the world weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.

According to the Associated Press, “When the pregnancy was announced in December, a spokeswoman for the Lance Armstrong Foundation said that the baby was conceived naturally. Armstrong had three children with his ex-wife, Kristin, using in vitro fertilization with sperm he had banked before undergoing chemotherapy.”

Armstrong competed in the Giro d’Italia in last month, coming in 12th overall. He gave no interviews during the final two weeks, but took to his Twitter page following the race letting fans know that he was headed home to await the baby’s arrival.

Armstrong will be returning to his bike for the Tour de France starting July 4.
