Toledo, Ohio (CaymanMama.com) — Chris Brown’s attorney submitted a request to the California Supreme Court Tuesday asking to delay a key hearing in the R&B singer’s assault case against pop star Rhianna.
Court records reflect Mark Geragos is seeking the state’s high court to delay a preliminary hearing which is slated for Monday. No decision has been made.
This request is the second attempt Brown’s team has made to delay the preliminary hearing. An appeals court rejected a motion to delay the case last week.
Alleged victim, Rihanna, was served a subpoena to testify and is expected to appear. Geragos is also requesting access to police personnel and investigative records of the assault case.
Brown, 19, faces felony assault and criminal threats charges. A California judge will decide following the hearing on Monday whether there is enough evidence for the case to move forward.
