7 militants killed in Upper Dir - 27 militants killed in Bajaur

Upper Dir (Dawn.com): With the advancement of the Pakistan military, the militants in the area of Upper Dir are on the run. On Sunday 10 militants were captured by the security forces and handed over to the lashkar in Patrak. The local police sources deny having received any captured militants.

Local residents however state that the 7 militants were killed in a shootout between the police and the militants. Out of the 10 militants 7 were killed, 1 was injured and two fled away.

In Bajaur too, the clash between the military and Taliban resulted in casualties of Taliban with 27 militants including 2 important Taliban commanders getting killed in the fight.
