Many people in Dallas gathered together to mourn the tragic loss of a pop icon. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, crowds throughout the city held candlelight vigils and used other means to pay tribute to Michael Jackson on the day of his death.
As noted in the report, over 100 individuals attended a vigil at the Inspiring Body of Christ Church in Red Bird Thursday, listening to Jackson’s music and sharing memories of the star. One gatherer, Gala Bizor, is quoted in the report as stating, “I had all of his posters and his buttons.” Another Dallas resident, May Jones, is further quoted as stating of Jackson, “He will live on forever, not just in Dallas or the United States, but everywhere.”
