Honda gets greener with two new, cheap hybrids

Austin, Texas (Press Release Service: CaymanMama.com) — Contrary to popular expectations, the new Honda Insight has not met the projected sales for the hybrid vehicle and still, the Prius remains the leader in that category.
Even so, the Prius is more advanced (albeit more pricey) but that won’t stop Honda from continuing to try new options in the green auto industry.
Instead of scaling back on their contributions to the hybrid trends of the future, the Japanese automaker is now sketching two more versions of hybrids, which, they hope, will be the ultimate in green driving as well as a bit cheaper than their counterparts.
While the Prius is the most technologically strong, Honda’s goal is to lower the price of hybrids so that people will be tempted to not only purchase, but also enjoy better gas mileage. Honda’s president has confirmed that the company is in the works for two new models that will both be sold for a price that is even cheaper than the Insight.
The new models planned will most likely be a hybrid version of the Honda Fit, which may cost customers only $17,000, and the other may be the CR-Z which is expected to launch in 2011.
