Denver, Colorado (Press Release Service CaymanMama.com) — The new iPhone 3G S smartphone by Apple is getting some hot new reviews — and they aren’t all good.

Some early American and European customers and reviewers had an issue with the new handset’s heat factor. That is, the phone literally gets hot to the touch.

While complaints regarding these high-tech devices are usually focused on recharging issues, the new iPhone’s battery is the problem as it heats up quickly regardless of charge or use.

This could be due to the iPhone 3G S increase in processor speed to 600MHz from the iPhone 3G’s 400MHz.

According to US PC World’s Melissa J Perenson, “And at some point, I became aware the handset had become very hot. Very, very hot — not just on the back, but the entire length of the front face, too. I was using a game, and then later the Web browser for reading the news about Michael Jackson, all over a Wi-Fi connection while plugged in. And in those circumstances, well … toasty doesn’t even describe how surprisingly hot it got. It was too hot to even put the phone against my face.”

The issue as has the Apple discussion forums buzzing as U.S. users talk of the overheating, with one person saying that had to resort to putting their iPhone 3G S in the refrigerator to cool off.
