Obama asks for public’s help on health care reform

Bethesda, Maryland (CaymanMama.com) — President Barack Obama has asked for the public’s help on health care reform by heading up a town hall meeting Wednesday in Virginia.

As his second meeting in a week, Barack hopes to rally the feedback of the American public early on during the process of deliberations in Congress. The town hall session will be held at Northern Virginia Community College.

The president is researching ways to reduce the cost of health-care delivery in what may be his largest effort to date by utilizing social networks such asTwitter and Facebook, as well as the White House Web site, to generate questions and comments from American citizens. He also used video on the White House Web site.

“After decades of inaction, we have finally decided to fix what broken about health care in America,” Obama said.

Obama has said he wants all Americans to have insurance overs, as well as urge physicians and hospitals to steer clear of ordering unnecessary procedures while still providing high quality health care.

According to CNN, “He said repeatedly during the presidential campaign that he’d like to set up a publicly run health care system to compete with private insurers, with the goal of lowering costs.”

Republicans and some Democrats disagree with the proposed plan.
