Maulana Fazlullah (Taliban leader) critically injured in the military operation

Islamabad (The News): Rehman Malik told BBC yesterday that the Taliban leader Maulana Fazlullah has been serious injured in the army attack in Malakand. He confirmed the report and said, “It has been confirmed that he has been hit and seriously injured, however, we will bring them out of their hideouts.” “The militants who are sitting in South Waziristan and planning terrorist activities from there.’

More Taliban casualties occur as the fight between Pakistan security forces and Taliban intensify

Bara / Peshawar (The News): With the increase in the intensity of fight between the Taliban and Pakistan’s military increases, the Pakistan army continues to hit the hideouts of the militants with helicopter gunships adding to more casualties. Washington (The News): The Assistant Secretary of State, Robert Blake, yesterday negated the Indian concern put forward by the group of visiting Indian Parliamentarians to the US that Pakistan might use the US aid to build forces against India. The Assistant secretary of State said that India need not worry about US aid to Pakistan rather it should focus on helping its neighbor in coming out of the present crises.

Political division of provinces not favored by PPP

Islamabad (The News): The PPP parliamentarian party meeting decided not to create another political turmoil by creating new provinces by dividing the present ones. The meeting further decided to follow the policy of consensus and takes reconciliatory steps accorder to the charter of democracy.

The sources quoted the PM and the President saying, “The PPP is a federal party and its mainstay politics is based on consensus and reconciliation and will not be a part of any move that may create division among the people on linguistic or ethnic bases.”

KSE-100 index up by 108.54 points

Karachi (Business Recorder): The Karachi stock exchange got fresh blood injected by the foreign investors and the current reduction in the NSS rates induced the local investors to play their part in the Karachi Stock Exchange. Resultantly, the KSE-100 index jumped up by 108.54 points yesterday bringing the index to 7,270.72 points.
