Peshawar (Dawn.com): 19 paramilitary personal of the Frontier corps, 18 Army regulars and 4 crew member died in the helicopter crash yesterday while on their way to the troubled region. The reason of the crash cited by the officials was the technical fault in the transport helicopter. The official reports stated that the Russian made M-17 helicopter crashed in the mountainous area around 20 miles away from Peshawar the capital city of NWFP.
Pakistan looking for permanent solution to illegal boarder cross from Afghanistan
Islamabad (Dawn.com): Pakistan Prime Minister in his meeting with the US Secretary from Homeland security Ms. Janet Napolitano pressed upon the need of building fenced border on the border with Afghanistan to check the illegal crossing the dividing lines of both the countries by the militants.
Row over appointment of diplomat to France still unresolved
Islamabad (Dawn.com): The controversy at the appointment of an envoy to France has gain momentum. With the Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi trying to resolve the matter, made an attempt by meeting the President but the meeting did not bear fruits.
The controversy looms large as around 20 ambassador level diplomats are awaiting posting. The same has been conveyed to the Prime Minister in writing about the growing controversy.
Police officers and Sindh Home minister booked on murder charges
Karachi (Dawn.com): Although the police had refused to register the case of murder of Sindh Nationalist Party workers against the Sindh Home Minister and 4 other police officers, the courts order forced the police to lodge an FIR against them and book them on murder charges.
No arrests have yet been made by the police on the Pretext that FIR is a simple peace of allegations and no solid evidence in this connection has yet been received.
Profit taking takes the Karachi Stock Exchange in the negative zone
Karachi (Business Recorder): The last day of the trading week at the Karachi Stock Exchange saw the index moving to the negative zone as the investors mainly resorted to the profit taking activities. The KSE-100 dropped by 27.06 points bring the index to 7,471.28 points.
