London (Dawn.com): Talking to CNN the Pakistan army spokesman, Major General Athar Abbas, spoke about the Taliban and US rift and said that Pakistan Army is ready to broker any talks between the US and Mullah Umar, the Taliban Leader.
He confirmed that the Pakistan Army is in contact with these leader and is willing to broker such meetings but Pakistan will be eye concession regarding India from the US. The US officials had earlier confirmed their willingness to sit with Taliban leaders and also address Pakistan issues concerning India

Islamabad (Dawn.com): Around come 21 months after the massacre at the Red Mosque in Islamabad, the release of the cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz had sparked fears that Red Mosque can once again become a flashpoint.
The Red Mosque spoke to the Islamic Militants in the tribal area yesterday. His speech of full of criticism on the government military action the tribal areas of Pakistan. He demanded that the operation must be stopped and the government should announce Sharia Law through out Pakistan through the Pakistan assembly. He also warned that if the government did not adhere to this request Pakistan will face a bloody revolution.
Law firm challenges Petroleum development tax ordinance in the Pakistan Supreme Court
Islamabad (Dawn.com): On the grounds that the President of Pakistan has no right to promulgate an ordinance for the levy of Petroleum Development Levy Tax, the Pakistani law firm filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
The supreme court of Pakistan, as said by the Chief Justice, would wet the petition on merit and act accordingly in the interest of the People of Pakistan.
The petition says, ‘The imposition of the levy is mala fide, oppressive and excessive because the public at large faces multiple taxation and it bypasses the Supreme Court’s order of putting on hold the collection of carbon surcharge. ‘
Prime Minister evaluates performance of Ministers - reshuffle in federal cabinet in sight
Islamabad (Dawn.com): The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yusuf Raza Giliani is in the phase of deciding the fate of some Federal ministers and also decide upon induction of new ministers in his 80 member federal cabinet. He seems to be dissatisfied with the working of some Federal Ministers and will taking to the President regarding the changes and induction required for the better working of the government.
As per official reports the re induction of two senior PPP member Ms. Sherry Rehman and Mian Raza Rabbani is also on the table.
Karachi stocks recover with 72.65 points in positive zone
Karachi (Dawn.com): The Karachi stock exchange recovered from the previous negative sentimental outlook on the news of rise in the forex reserves and the foreseeable launch of the news leverage fund. The KSE-100 index posted 7,502.66 points on board.
