Lashkar-i-Taiba’s links to Mumbai attack confirmed by the Pakistani Investigation agencies

Islamabad (Dawn.com): Material evidence was collected by the investigation agencies while interrogating the arrested men of LeT. Resultantly, Pakistani investigation agencies who for the first time carried out serious investigations in this connection received solid material evidence that LeT was linked with the last year’s Mumbai attack that killed 166 people.

The report, that was handed over to India in this regards stated, ‘The investigation has established beyond any reasonable doubt that the defunct LeT activists conspired, abetted, planned, financed and established communication network to carry out terror attacks in Mumbai.’

Manmoham Singh to sell peace talks with Pakistan to lawmakers

New Delhi (Dawn.com/Reuters): The Indian parliament will hear the Indian PM reasons of agreeing with the Pakistani PM on the resumption of talks and improving ties with Pakistan while setting aside the terrorism issues. The uproar in the Indian quarters after the Sharm-e-Sheikh declaration signed between the two PMs forced the Indian PM to announced that resumption of talk will come after solution to Mumbai attacks is found. BJP’s senior leader told the newsmen that, ‘ ‘The prime minister must answer why he agreed to a joint statement that disrupts a national consensus that dialogue cannot resume against Pakistan unless strong measures against militants are taken.’

Karachi (Dawn.com): The chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement during his telephonic speech to the participants on the launch ceremony of pictorial biography compiled by Rashid Jamil told the attendents of the ceremony that MQM is against hate speeches and if voted to power it would put a ban on such speeches and punish people for non compliance.

He also spoke about the people who dash away billion of Rupees worth of unearned wealth talking away country’s money by way of loans.

Musharraf council not to appear in the court today

Islamabad (Dawn.com): It appears that the former Pakistani President has not formally received the court’s order. His legal council has decided to stay away till Musharraf receives the court order in London. Advocate Ali Saif, who is on Musharraf’s council told the media that, ‘We have decided not to represent Gen (retd) Musharraf unless the notice issued by the court in his name is served’ and no one from his side would appear in the court on Wednesday.’

Meanwhile, Musharraf’s leading legal aid, Abdul Hafiz Pirzada met Musharraf in London and held lengthy discussions in this regards but the former attorney general Malik Mohammad Qayyum preferred to stay away from the case citing the controversies that would mushroom during the case.

Karachi Stock Exchange Index down by 72.34 points

Karachi (Business Recorder): The stock trading at Karachi Stock Exchange began with a positive note. The positivity at the KSE proved short lived due to the selling pressure created by the foreign investors who resorted selling in the energy sector.

The stocks went down by 72.34 with KSE-100 index standing at 7,711.06 points
