Islamabad (Dawn.com): The Pakistan Supreme Court, in what is being called a historic ruling, has declared all acts of former President General Musharraf illegal and unconstitutional. The court denounced the past military takeovers and their endorsement by the previous judiciaries. The court however refrained from passing a verdict against the former President.
The 14 member bench which was chaired by the Chief Justice, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry also ruled that the appointment of the Chief Justice, Abdul Hameed Dogar, was unconstitutional. The court decided to consult the Supreme Judicial Council to settle the cases of judges who defied the order of the 7 judge bench and took order under the PCO.

Islamabad (Dawn.com): All judges who took oath under PCO will have to go after the landmark judgement passed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The ruling that came yesterday will affect 15 judges of the Supreme Court, 41 judges of the Lahore High Court, 27 of the Sindh High Court and the 5 judges of the Balochistan High Court. 4 judges from the Islamabad Sharia Court will also have to go for taking oath under the PCO after declaration of emergency by former President Musharraf.

Islamabad (Dawn.com): Yusuf Raza Gilani is not recommending politicians to start their construction companies but while he was inaugurating the Islamabad Stock Exchange Towers told the newsmen that the role of politician is to shun the differences and pave ways to create harmony in relations. The Pakistani PM, told the reporters that delay in the start of composite dialog between India and Pakistan was helping in fueling terrorism. He urged the Indian side to sit around the table to discuss all the issues including insurgency and militancy.
He praised the Indian PM for his vision and leadership.
Investors to get 5 years tariff incentive in SEZ being created by Government of Pakistan
Islamabad (Dawn.com): Pakistan Investment Minister, yesterday, unveiled the investment policy in a press conference. He told the reporters that foreign investors are taking interest it the energy, agriculture and manufacturing sectors in Pakistan.
While outlining the investment policy the Minister said that the creation of Special Economic Zones (SEZ) will help in generating $75 billion investment in the next 5 years.
Positivity at the Karachi stock exchanged boost trading at the stock exchange
Karachi (Business Recorder): After few days of poor performance, the stocks at the Karachi Stock Exchange performed well. The reason cited for the surge was the news of healthy remarks by the governor of State Bank of Pakistan for high liquidity at the local banks, grant of loans to the private sector and expectations of the release of the IMF trench.
The stocks rose to 7,720.93 points after adding 229.17 points to the browse.
