Rochester, New York (CaymanMama.com) — The weak job market is making it harder for college grads to find gainful employment using their expensive degrees. One of those recent college grads is unhappy about that — suing mad, that is.
Trina Thompson, 27, of the Bronx, is suing New York’s Monroe College for $72,000 — the total cost of her tuition plus some — arguing the is unable to find a job.
Thompson received her degree from her alma mater in April with a bachelor of business administration degree in information technology.
On July 24, Thompson filed suit against the Monroe College in Bronx Supreme Court, claiming that the college’s “Office of Career Advancement did not help me with a full-time job placement. I am also suing them because of the stress I have been going through.”
In her documentation, Thompson is seeking $70,000 in tuition reimbursement, plus an additional $2,000 to compensate for the anxiety of her three-month job hunt.
In response, Monroe College said it offers job-search assistance to all of its students.
