D.I.Khan (Dawn.com): Baitullah Mehsud’s death was finally confirmed by the Tehrik-i-Taliban’s new chief. Hakeem-ullah Mehsud, told the Associated Press that the Taliban leader was severely injured in the Drone attack and remained unconscious. He died in the same state. The duo Hakeem-ullah Mehsud and Waliur Rehman confirmed the leader’s death. Haleem-ullah will now head the Pakistani Taliban while Waliur Rehman will be leading the movement from South Waziristan.

India manages to get hooks on to Hafiz Mohammad Saeed

Lahore (Dawn.com): Times of India, yesterday, reported that Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice against Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the chief of Jamaatud Dawa. India, as the report says, has provided the proofs and evidences of Hafiz Saeed’s involvement in Mumbai attacks. Interpol has issued the RCN but cannot compel the Pakistani government to arrest the chief of Jammatud Dawa.

PML-Q dissidents deny meeting Musharraf

Islamabad (Dawn.com): The Chatta Group, the newly formed faction of the PML-Q is finding hard to justify the meeting of the party leaders with the former President of Pakistan in London. The leaders had recently apologized to the nation for siding with Musharraf during the days of his rule. The sources report that it was on Musharraf’s instruction the PML-Q party members broke away from the league to form their own party.

However, the new party President, Salim Saifullah, told the newspaper, ‘that there was nothing wrong in ‘meeting with one’s former boss’ while the secretary general of the new political group denies any meeting with Musharraf.
President and PM discuss political situation of the country

Islamabad (Dawn.com): The Pakistan PM met the President after his return from the China trip. Yousuf Raza Gilani discussed the current political scene with the President. He briefed the President about the Minus One Formula (Minus Zardari) formula and the current political relationship with the Pakistan Muslim League (N). The Pakistani President left for UK after the meeting.

Profit taking back tracks the KSE-100 index - KSE losses 40.28 points

Karachi (Business Recorder): Positivity prevailed at the Karachi Stock Exchange yesterday. The early profit taking by the investors and retail traders brought the KSE-100 index down by 40.28 points. The KSE-100 index stood at 8,246.72 points at the day’s end.
