Hakimullah Mehsud vows revenge for Baitullah’s killing - Pakistani top leadership possible Target

Peshawar: Hakeemullah, who declared himself as the new leader of TTP in Pakistan promised revenge for the killing of Baitullah Mehsud who died in the US drone attack. According to AFP Hakeemullah said, ‘We will take revenge and soon. We will give our reply to this drone attack to America.’

While experts warn that a possibility exists that Taliban would target Pakistani top leadership to prove strength.

Wali-ur-Rehman, the South Waziristan chief of TTP said he backed Hakeemullah and told the AFP that, ‘All the Taliban are united. There are no differences among us… We will continue our struggle against the enemy and our main enemy is America and all those who support, help and side with America against Muslims.’

Frontier province demands National Finance Commission Award distribution by 20:80

Peshawar: The political parties in the North West Frontier province of Pakistan have decided to ask the Federal Government for 80% share in the resources of the province. Earlier the provincial government had decided to ask of NFC distribution by 40:60 but lately their demand has escalated to 80%.

The meeting that will be held today in Islamabad for NFC distribution, the NWFP Chief Minister will maintain the stance of NFC award in the ratio of 20:80. Additionally, the provincial government is demanding 5% in excess of the award to offset the impact of economic degradation and backwardness.

India disallows Jaswant Singh to visit Pakistan

Islamabad: The writer of the book on the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Jawant Singh has not be given NOC by the Indian government to visit Pakistan for promotion of his book. Jaswant Singh’s hosts in Pakistan told the newspaper that, ‘The visit had to be postponed because India declined to issue NOC for Mr Jaswant’s visit.’

Nato view Pakistan as a crucial partner in War against terror - NATO chief

Brussels: ‘Besides, I long to lay stress upon the fact that I consider Pakistan a very crucial partner’, said the UN secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen while talking to a local TV channel. He praised the work of Pakistan Army on counter insurgency campaign and pushing the Taliban out of Swat Valley and the Malakand division. He also said that enhancing cooperation with Pakistan on this goal is one of the priorities.

Inflow of foreign funds valuing $4.1 million recorded at Karachi Stock Exchange

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange index crossed the 8,300 points mark after adding 73.02 points on the board. The KSE-100 index stood at 8,319.74 points on the back of foreign investors who remained the net buyers of shares at the Karachi Stock Exchange. Foreign funds inflow of US $4.1 million was recorded yesterday.
